31 de dezembro Progress on my pet projectGetting there, slowly. A few more days, hopefully not weeks. The stairs are near complete, the wooden flooring nearly laid, the electrics nearly finsihed... everything nearly. A few glitches with some of the basic constructs and finishes, but I'll have time to tend to these once the tenants are in. They expect to move in on the 7th of Jan. Erm, yes, thats very soon.
30 de dezembro Intdev recapJust for the record, I thought to quickly recap on Intdev during 2007. The reason being that these stats get so quickly lost, and indeed the team has been great at supporting the growth of my lil company. I still call it my as it is indeed true to my heart, even through equity has been sold and my participation is more that of vested interest that personal. Someone must nurture the small but growing Internet Service Provider, else who will stear the ship out on this wide wide ocean?
My thanks goes to the group of people I proudly call the team at Intdev. These include
- Felix Frankenberger
- Simone Zapf
- Elaine Conradie
- Stephan Leonard
- Buyi Xulu
- Phuti Rapheeha
- Nhlanhla Ndebele
- Michael Card
- Gavin Attwell
- Yunjin Choi
- Hlulani
- Lizzy
Obviously, there are those around us that supported me during the year including Paul Van Vuuren, Bridget Pretorius, Helmut Irle, Ryan Lewis, Chad Both and of course Rick Joubert.
I'm looking forward to a rather exciting 2008. Considering that all the prerequsites are in place, systems are well integrated and staff highly motivated, I believe there is great scope to grow. We'll see what the team looks like at the end of next year, hopefully I can add a few more new names than having to replace any existing ones *wink* 03 de dezembro airportok, its been a rough but fun week. we had all the contractors in, lengthy meetings and hardly time to catch up on personal life. Glad to have made arrangements to Salsa with Nuka whihch was (as always =) great fun!
its start of a new month, time to execute the Intdev month-end processes of billing for November. Its efficient but not quite where I want it yet. There are quite a few (and growing list) of exceptions to manage, something I want to avoid at all cost. The systems that Phuti and I have written support most of the business, and now with two further resources Lizzy and Jina we should get there. Interestingly most of our billing is built around the QuickBooks SDK v6 using the XML based preprocessor. Works like a dream when implemented in bulk processes, a bit slow for real time yet extremely flexible in its implementation. Still a long way to go to reach completely automated, invoicing and debit order processing without human intervension.
