Kewl, went down to Cape Town for the FIX Protocol Conference. Love this annual event, a mix of technology, a bit of socialising, a bit of defending the Global Trader reputation, cheeky comments by prime brokers, views from the industry etc etc. Interesting developments noted by Kevin Houston were on the developments of the FIX Algo Trading specifications, and the contineous improvements to the standard. While I see great scope for this standard, it is unfortunately not within the scope of Global Trader.

None the less, the Thursday turned into a long weekend. James planned this in advance and we ended up spending the next four days touring the mother city. Lovely!

   
Yay, got to see Vlad after a long long time. We had some chance to catch up over our interests in Asia, and the potentials there (including wimmen). The pic to the right is the guest house that James had organised called The White Lodge in Constantia, a lovely bed and breakfast.

    
We did manage to squeeze in a Stormers vs Crusaders game, of which the outcome is obvious. Considering that James has a mad obsession with Daniel Carter, it was not unexpected that we would meet the fella =)
