Brief trip to Milan, arrived yesterday in Zurich, caught the train and spent two days here. Lovely, wow amazin lil isolated culture...lol, isolated in that its very, very italian... or perhaps i was just too african. Its great here, walked over to the Duomo, went out for dinner with some work colleagues and stayed over at Silvannas place. Worked out perfectly, considering that I just got my Russian visa on Tuesday.

 

The Russian visa applicaiton process was interesting. Thursday and Friday were Russian public holidays, and the embassy was obviously closed. Monday was South Africas Youth Day, and the embassy was closed...now no invitation yet, no visa, only a flight out on Tuesday night.... yet there is this great website called www.visatorussia.com where you apply for your invitation, received it in PDF 30 minutes later, went to the embassy the following day...and 30 minutes later had my tourist visa. fabulous! wow, soo excited... and while it was not possible to pack up everything (cause 8 years of living in the same appartment naturally creates clutter) but that is now all left behind.

 

Super... so time in Milan is up, back up through the country side to Parma for the night...more family, more love, some headspace. Moscow next Tuesday baby!
