An Entrepreneur consultant friend of mine Brian Walsh wrote this in a circular once before. He cited that we should strive to surround ourselves with abundance, to embrace the fact that we will have, must consume and merely have move of what we enjoy. The reasoning was that in persuit of this we will indeed achieve and therefore fulfill this desire to have.

 

Perhaps the idea of abundance in his write up was predominantly focused on financial freedom, yet this could equally apply in other fields. I would consider greatly the advantage of having choices unquantifiable. Not limited by circumstance, but rather to have the means to move, choose and do as one wishes...

 

At present, there are some choices to make... The abundance is therefore not purely a function of having, but similarly of knowing. What does it help to have a abundance if we dont know of what? It seems people choose clothes, cars, credit cards etc and decide on these likes, wants and needs. It gives them a tangable target. However, I find one problem is still not knowing what one wants...!

 

So, when it comes to choice...purely basis the decision on quantified facts does not lead to happiness. A leason here is finding a suitable grrlfriend...qualifying a grrl based on a check list would certainly be shallow. However, what criteria do apply? Just anything, cant be! Does this similarly hold true for lifestyle, job and career, environment and friends?

 

And so back to knowing what one wants, which must be defined yet perhaps not quantied. It could merely be a gut feel, the opportunity or the adventure which stimulates the want. These do not have scale. Once these have been identified thou, only those choices which will satisfy this want will become relevant.

 

Now, the choice to make is to stay or go, change or remain steady. Perhaps I'm just waiting for the wind to fill the sails again, and start moving in a new direction. At present, things seem pretty stale...yet the options are there.

 

For those with whom I've share the options, the above will make perfect sense. Lets see how this pan's out.
